1930s Helmer Inc full-length opera coat featuring a striking pleated silk velvet collar, luxurious black silk velvet exterior, long elegant silhouette, and subtle button front closure. Fully lined in a light silk fabric with long-sleeves for smooth wear. A remarkable example of period evening outerwear, crafted in Syracuse. It attaches with a snap closure at the collar, along with a button that is currently missing from the piece. It also has a "An Original Design Registered by a member to the Fashion Originators Guild" tag, shown in the last photo. It shows age-appropriate wear.
